                       SPIRITUAL  STONES AND SPIRITUAL HOUSES

1 Peter 2 :4 – 8

Come to Him as a living stone,

Rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,

You also as living stones

Are being built to a spiritual house,

A holy priesthood,

To offer up SPIRITUAL SACRIFICES , acceptable to God through  Christ.          

We  build our houses with stones, bricks, marble and granite because they are strong materials to withstand any pressures and fury of nature  in the normal conditions.  Even wooden structures stand the test of time. How much more when the stones  are alive and vibrant as the cells of our body.  We have  strong concrete bridges. In mountainous areas they have bridges with the strong root of wild plants  which grow and strengthen the bridges for hundreds of years as the Banyan trees spread for hundreds of years from the original tree. The cells , brain cells, DNA  and plant cells display wonderful formations under microscope  as beautiful as crystals ad stained glass windows .

When we consider a nation as one unit, with different cultures, climate,  languages, different political parties, people with different skills and talents working together for one nation , the developments knows no boundaries . It spreads and percolate and nourish everyone mutually .  From salt to high technologically developed instrumentation  we need people at various levels.

This interdependence  is the pulse and breathe of the nation. Once it ceases , the nation ceases to exist ion a healthy manner . It will be a mangled mass of people pulling and pushing each other for survival . Like the missing note in the orchestra,   liked a half constructed house or bridge  , we can say , “ we have it “ but it does not serve even the basic needs .

   The chemical compounds and medicine and adhesives we make by mixing different elements, how strong  and effective and useful they are . If the proportion is messed up, we get entirely different product . How much more when we deal with the people of the nation .

When  we , the living stones come together, we know the power and strength with which we hold together  the values and heritage  ,which  is within our  custody ,  protection and authority. We built houses, forts and walls for protection. When they are of living stones, each one uphold the other and the unity is unbroken. If only the people who come together for meetings and rallies, gather as living stones , protecting the dignity and majesty of our great nation, India would have become the PRIDE of all the world !! Instead each party accuse and abuse each other as if there are two or more India, one for each party and they are fighting for their dukada / piece  of India !   Instead of the clenched fist , they can start talking about what each has done for India by their own party. Let the other party fend for themselves.

Then the crowd will be most eager to listen to their achievements rather then the shouting. Then the crowd will understand what is being done for them by their leaders  and not  about the shortcoming of others . Our younger generation will be seasoned politicians by learning from the present leaders. For the next election, the voters themselves  will declare  that they have experienced the benefits which were proclaimed and not proclaimed and they will be welcoming their candidates  wholeheartedly, no more untoward incidents. As the most advanced, digitalized country, let India show the world peaceful, election propaganda and peaceful governance.  Let 21 st century have an unprecedented election procedure and harmonious prosperity.

   In our churches, we will experience the power and radiance of the
“ living stones “ . Each one will bring their little lamp and they converge to make the bright light . So follow the justice, truth, kindness, compassion ,  loyalty, faithfulness , and care for one another. Until then the  stones cannot become living stones . Let us wait  !!! We become aware of the pulse of the society .Everyone want others to be living stone. They do not like it for themselves or for their own family .  Elijah was a man with a nature like our’s , and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months . And he prayed again and  the heaven gave rain and the earth produced fruit . James 5:19,20 . All the saints are just ordinary people. Only purity in thought, word, and deed  made them what they are . Just ordinary work well done create magnificent result. Let us all try it out .

1Corinthians  3 :16

Do you not k now that you are the temple of God / the Eternal Life giving spirit/ The Being / The Super Intelligence of the whole universe,  OM/ the Breath of Life.

If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him,  

 For the temple of God is holy, Which temple you are.

How much  vigilant and true are we to our temples, Mosques, Gurudwaras, churches and other religious buildings in our country. No one allows anyone to defile them. They are holy to them. Even there are holy mountains. Then how can we forget that we are alive because of this life  giving spirit of God and we are alive as long as that spirit of life is in our body. Once the life giving spirit departs, we are no more.  How much we should be vigilant and respectful for the   body and the indwelling godly presence which enable us to discern what is good and noble and wise. As long as the eternal spirit or breath is within us, we are alive. How precious is our life which is a combination of breath and body. Can we grasp the greatness and the depth of our majestic life on earth. How the Creator is mindful of each one of us !! We are the  “ Living stones ‘ !!!

            Exodus 19 :5,6  No wonder , we are “ a special treasure,”

“ apple of the eye “ . Do we have the same valuation for our children , spouse, father and mother .

            Psalm 36 :5 – 10  This passage describes  :

the  faithfulness that reaches the  clouds,

the righteousness like mountains,

judgment are a great  deep,

you preserve man and beast

how precious is your loving-kindness,

therefore children of men put their trust in you,

they are abundantly satisfies by the fullness of your house,

for with you is the fountain of life and you give them drink for them from the river  and fountain of life,

in your light we see light .

Here we have the light which enables us to do everything orderly and correctly , Just as our Preamble . Following the correct rules guide us in all ways of life .

                  Deuteronomy  7  : 6 The simplest way is :
1. consider yourself good, faithful, loyal, trustworthy in your own mind and act accordingly . You will never dare to do anything wrong !

 2.  Consider yourself of good character and of high reputation. You will be like that in other’s eye.    Then you will hesitate to do anything wicked. You cannot allow your name to be tarnished.    

3. when you have confidence in yourself, who can destroy you. They may try their level best . but be firm in your mind and continue to do good .  Never cease to do good . All the saints did it. That is the simplest way of life .

4. Do not allow others to make your life and your family life complicated by their vested interests .  Good people never attempt to do that . By their words and actions, you can understand them .
