DEFENCE PERSONNEL AND FISHERMEN AND THEIR SERVICE DURING
DAM RELEASE IN KERALA
Defense personnel and their meritorious rescue operations at every instance of calamities
are praiseworthy . The fishermen and their rescue operations in Kerala are
equally meritorious though they use only their own fishing boats for these purposes. Because the boats can
reach every nook and corner where neither helicopter nor car or any other
vehicle can reach, these people with little resources and very little help
rendered when they are in peril , are working day and night . Others have their
regular salary whether they work in Kerala or in Delhi or in Maharashtra. Their helicopter and all vehicles are taken
care of by the government with supply of fuel and servicing .These fishermen
have their income only if they venture into the sea whether it is calm or
turbulent without any additional protection or even warning of coming depression in the sea sometimes !!! We must really appreciate their
selfless rendering of this service of such magnitude . When they are here, do
their family have anything to live on. If only some provisions are sent to
them. They are the bread winners with not much balance or stocked up resources
with them .
Defense personnel
are well cared for by the Government and
they can fly back as soon as the rescue
operation is over. The herculean task of reviving and rejuvenating Kerala with tear filled eyes is a heavy heart breaking task .
