From July
all states are getting plenty and more than necessary rain.
How much will be retained in all the
thousands of miles of natural canals and man made canals, for the future use . All
the rejuvenated lakes and ponds and rivers will be full. Can the shallow rivers
retain water within their sandy base o hold it . Can we ensure no one will
complain for water for the next one year at least. We keep money in the bank. We store grains
and pulses for 2, 3, 5 years without getting rotten , specially in North India
. We know how to keep the clothes for generations without getting damaged . We know how to keep all necessary natural
resources for factories for years together.
We keep milk, milk products, fruits and fruit products , meat and fish
for years . All these need lot of infrastructure and expenditure and excellent
planning to manufacture and for storage.
Earlier we had no man made infra structure other than wells and lakes for
water. At present since the government has already built thousands and thousands
of miles of canals in all states across the country, why not harvest rain water
in them and store them without being drained soon after the heavy showers .
Since the major structure worth billions of rupees are existing every where,
just make walls of 3 , 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 feet depending upon the lay out and the
ground level and keep all the rain water as much as you want to use lavishly.
Why keep on pestering the government after
spending billions.
When a beneficial project is completed and
dedicated to the people , it is the responsibility of the people and the the government
, state or central , under whom it falls, so that the upkeep and the maintenance
and utility depends upon them. I f the
government give money to buy cows or buffalos or fish farm, the people have to follow it
through after the initial “ inauguration “. No one will wait for the government or the
voluntary organizations who gave them the cows or buffalos or goats or saplings
of fruit trees , for feed or manure .
Well begun is half done and the continuous prosperity depends on the
people or the state to whom these are entrusted .If all the people who were benefitting
from the canal water from the dams , had harvested the rain water in all these
thousands of miles of canals , India would have enough and more water. We can
have more swimming pools to train the children, more fish farms of different
verities , more prawn farms, more
lobster farms ,more coral and pearl farms . more lotus farms, When water is in plenty, more cattle and
buffalo and goats and sheep can be reared , more sea weed farms ,
Naturally agriculture and horticulture will
thrive. Forests and mini forests will take root every where. Lush green canopy will
cover the entire area.
Deep jet pump sets will not be required to
pump up water from 500 or 600 fee blow . Expenditure for irrigation will come
down and it will be a boost for farmers . Water level rising up will enable them
to get water from 30 or 40
or 50 feet . Everything is made easy since all the canals
and man made canals already exist . Use them wisely. Why leave them empty and
dry all through the year as skeletons in a fertile land . Make the canals come
alive with rain water harvesting .Government will have the satisfaction that their
expenditure , five year plans and
reforms are bearing fruit and citizens are prospering in agriculture sector and other affiliated
sectors .Major industries use enormous
amount of water . This will not diminish the water supply to the general public
once the ground water level across the country come up to a healthy level .
If deserts can be made lush green thriving
agricultural land and beautiful gardens, where there is no rain ( African countries, Egypt, Arab countries
etc )
We in India and its neighboring countries
with so much natural resources can do wonderfully well once the rivalry and
fighting is replaced by co operation and mutual understanding and working
together . Once you concentrate
on “ beneficial “ work , there is no room
for fighting. The moment you start fighting, work is stopped. anger and
pressure mounts and nothing is done or whatever is done is demolished .

For large scale farming , use the chemical
fertilizers carefully since too much
quantity can have opposite result. If someone think that too much chemical
fertilizer will bring more production, it will only have adverse effect.
Chemicals, acid and alkalis will be too
much for the tender paddy and other agricultural farms . The crop dry up and wither .Use them meticulously
as per instruction. Like medicines , it will be good. We do not take medicines
in large quantities .
Endosulphan is detrimental and it causes so
many malformed wherever it is used . Better to a avoid it .
