RAIN AND THE FLOODS ON THE ROADS

Monsoon has made all roads into lakes and rivers. But they will drain themselves within  a dry or two into the storm water drainage system which will take directly to sea or back waters or other rivers. Since all the rivers are dried up and  the leading smaller canals are all blocked up, not a drop will reach the parched river and lake .

Therefore  before all the water disappear into the drainage, at least deploy few tankers to “ absorb “ or suck up the water and discharge them into the dry riverbeds . Even if it cannot make it  running river or a lake, this water will appear in the nearby wells within a week .

100 OR 200 tankers with capacity of 12,000 or 15000 or 20000 liters into one lake can really “ moist “ the soil !

That is 200 tankers  x  20000 liters   = 240,00,000 liters of water  within an hour in the lake . Unless done quickly, " red tape "ism will allow all the water reach the sea in no time . Tankers are readily available. The important thing is to  wash all the tankers with soap and Dettol and DISINFECTANT   or infection can spread  when they take drinking water in them. Do spare some water to clean all the water tankers . If some dried up lakes are near by , pump the water through large diameter hoses . All the lakes and ponds and rivers will be fed in the whole city within a day .

For the next monsoon , we can plan and direct all rain to be directed to them by proper ways . 

   With some futuristic consideration ,

1. construct road with slight slope towards the river or lake or pond.

2. while tarring  the roads , maintain the slight slope for the easy flow of rain water . This will prevent formation of gutter and pot holes also. That saves money for repair work. In short, proper " planning " saves much trouble in maintenance .

LUCKY FARMERS AND THEIR PROBLEM OF

STORAGE OR MARKETING

For “ lucky farmers “ also this is the problem.

When the harvest is beyond their “ storage “ capacity, they have no place to store them.

For this , build large halls / go downs of 10,000 or 50,000 , 1 lakh or 5or 6 lakh square feet of square meters of
 halls “

Inside walls  or partition make them strong structures  .

If foundation is extra strong, we can construct several floors .

Since it is for storage of tons of goods,  Cement and leak proof and extra strengthening ingredients should be “ lavishly” or more in quantity should be used. For 500,000 , 5 lakh square meters , we can spend an additional one lakh or more worth of “ strengthening and water proof “ materials . This will wipe away all worries of  repair, leakage, peeling off  of the plastering , chipping away of loose cement and sand mixture  blocks . Then they will become “ heritage “ granaries.

Generations can use them without any repair work .

Same way fly overs and bridges  and multistoried buildings will stand tall giving credit to the architects and builders .

They will have enough water also.

  Wherever available spaces are there. make them rain water harvesting areas by digging up 6-10 inch or more  sunken spaces .  Thousands and thousands of them allow water to percolate.
Keep the soil in the centre of the sunken area itself so that over two or three years time it will level up. Again we can do the same. or whenever the gardeners see it filled up , they can keep the soil in the centre .
