THE FRUIT OF OUR LIPS

Proverb 25: 11  “ A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver “

Proverb 15 :23 “ A man has  JOY BY THE ANSWER OF HIS MOUTH,

And a word spoken in due season ,

How good it is !!!”

1. All high level seminars and conferences all over the world win over the majority opinion and accomplish so much by the discussions, by dialog, by presenting the fact, figures and plans for modification, improvement , extension of the furtherance of their ideas and ideologies by the “ words of their mouth,”   and are  the  “ fruit of their lips. “ The way we present our point of view,  how they argue it out,  projecting the benefits , the easy maneuvering of the process how excellently applicable in various situation, matters concerning land, water, sky, to innovate , improve, modify and make advancement  for a better life for the future generations to live in harmony and peace.

While presenting data, facts and figures,

And discussing upon the pros and cons of the various suggestions and amendments, with continuous understanding , co-operation and evaluation, suddenly they reach most beneficial solutions which enhances the prosperity of all involved.

We can easily start fight just by shouting some angry slogans by anyone in the mob , need not be the leader himself, which can ignite and flame the the emotions of the mob for adverse effects !!

We can start celebration, just by clapping the hands by some one in the mob.

We can approve things by the united voice of approval.

Political parties win over people by presenting their facts and figures at meetings. Circumcision of lips , ( no surgery or cutting ) just determining in your mind, considering and deciding that we will not utter derogative word, maligning,  abusive words by our lips can prevent and solve majority of problems. ( reminds us of the three monkeys, covering the mouth, the ear and the eyes, so that they are conscious of what to speak, hear or see and using their discretion ) What do counselors do  in colleges, medical centers, border disputes, monetory or family disputes or any other disputes . Majority problems can be solved by just mutual discussion or with the help of counselors.  The juvenile delinquents, the prisoners ,  even stubborn children, when we explain every thing, how they reciprocate with love and affection and understanding. The adults do it on the international and national arena, and if each and every one of us do that on a smaller level everyday in our life activities, life would have been smooth sailing . This is so vital for our everyday life. The vigilance required is so great like that of a vehicle driver, who no matter whether it is a five minutes drive or continuous full day drive cannot afford to neglect his concentration even for a single moment or the result will be fatal FOR SO MANY. We are the drivers of our lives at home, at work place, at school  at government office, at hospitals, as pedestrians or drivers, all have to be constantly vigilant for the safety of ourselves and of others.

The word of our mouth, the fruit of our lips ,our way of life, all come under “ good works “This is just the way we are supposed to behave because “ we are created for good works : Eph 2:10 All that was created was certified that they are good. In nature, all have beneficial uses , sometimes it may not be beneficial for us but they are meant for some other purposes which we are not aware of. If we do not understand something, that does not mean that  it is not good.

The light , the spark , the power, the ideas, the thoughts,  within us find expression through our word, our thoughts, our behavior, our dealings, our life style etc. If in the national and international arena , so much can be achieved through and by the “ word of our mouth  “ and since  we are familiar with the

 “ fruit of our lips “ in a wide variety  of vitally important matters, we can easily apply the same tools of communication to achieve  far more in our daily life which is the building block of society, nation and the world at large.

2.   “ Who can understand his errors ?
Cleanse me from secret sins.

Keep back me from presumptuous sins ;

Let them not have dominion over me,

Then I will be blameless,

And I shall be innocent of great transgressions.

a)   Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight .

O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.”

“ Compare and contrast “  reveals us the validity of  our ideas , whether it is acceptable to the public, whether the it will be fruitful or detrimental . .  Even for measuring out the milk or oil or measuring the length of cloth or land or sky scrappers, we need a universally accepted measuring constant so that it is easily understood by all irrespective of country or culture or language. Even if we can not converse in another country through their language we can buy food or other materials because of this measurement and value system. Then only the barbarians or man eater or terrorists  come to know that what they were doing so far was not  humane . Just beating and punishing children are not of any use, just make them understand by explaining well,  is far more easy, less time consuming and  more beneficial in the long run for teachers, students and nation.

b)   He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty . Muscle power and wisdom  can not be considered equal  in power. You can develop and acquire wisdom  with your effort and  willful desire. And there is no limit to the wisdom you can accumulate in the various fields. If you have this wisdom in stock, whenever you are confronted with opportunity or difficulty, the solutions will be readily available from your wisdom bank. Depending upon the credit and accumulation, you become more and more confident and bold to deal with any situation.  In examinations  , quiz and contest programs children come out with flying colors when their wisdom bank is full of deposits and treasures .

Proverb 14:28He who is slow to wrath, has great understanding. But he who is repulsive exalts folly.

Proverb 19 :11. The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger,

And it is to his glory to overlook transgression.

c)Proverb 17:27 He who has knowledge spares his  words,

And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.

Proverb 18:4 The word’s of a man’s mouth is deep waters

The well spring of wisdom  is a flowing brook.

Great knowledge  , divine knowledge is like a deep sea and because of the depth, it remains calm in all circumstances.  The ocean of divine / excellent knowledge  is discerned by great saints and sages and that is why we flock to them to be empowered by their powerful wisdom  and vision. This self discipline enables them to conduct their energies and knowledge in the most appropriate  , controlled and channeled way that many a strife is negated and peaceful solutions find their way in their presence.  Spare your words, it will have a cooling effect on everybody. Silence speaks more loudly than shouting.  The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.       James 3: 17,18

Proverb 20:3 It is honorable for a man to stop striving

Since any fool can start a quarrel.

d.)  Proverb 15: 28 The heart of the righteous studies how to answer,

But the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil.”

This is possible if you study the problem, solution, project, reforms etc  in your heart and formulate the solutions and answers  , so that you are

 always  ready to give a defense and explanations to everyone who  ask you for a reason for the hope of your reforms or projects or spiritual matters  that  you have ,the dreams you have, your aspirations   and  present them with a good conscience that when they defame you as evil doers,

those who revile your good conduct in christ may be ashamed.”

Therefore by Him, let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God,

That is , the  FRUIT OF OUR LIPS “ giving thanks to his name.

Psalm 49:3, Let us decide, that ‘ our mouth shall speak wisdom and the meditation of our heart shall  bring understanding.  “

Do we pause a minute before speaking, to decide whether what we speak will bring forth wisdom which will be palatable for others and our meditation or pondering over spiritual, material, political, financial etc bring proper understanding for others.

Proverb 22:11 He who LOVES PURITY OF HEART,

AND GRACE ON HIS LIPS, THE KING WILL BE HIS FRIEND.

Do you see a man who excels in his work, he will stand before kings;

He will not stand before unknown men. Proverb 22: 29
