Delhi air pollution

From the desk of Mrs. Baby Abraham . . . . . .

Delhi air pollution

The characteristics of air and water

Can we blame Mr. Kejriwal for the pollution in Delhi?

Whatever is in it’s vicinity, the air and water carry them along with them, and take it and disperse wherever they go…  whether it is smoke or viruses, or fragrant smell, or stinking smell…. The air will take it and spread, irrespective of whether it is the capital of India, or any other place.

A perfume factory, without any advertisement, spreads its fragrance everywhere.

The smoke from the garbage heap, or any form of fire, spreads itself everywhere…

Water also… though pure at its source in the mountain tops, carry everything: leaves, tree trunks, waste
(…once this “waste” is identified, like CO2, it can be used to make something else, like CaCO3, which someone else wants.)
from factories, effluents, fertile soil by soil erosion etc..

All these pollutants are the free contribution from our neighbourhood, from factories, animal husbandry, and now, from the agricultural land also…

Whatever suffering or suffocation people endure, are not the results of their own making… they are just victims of what is done somewhere else, even from other states or other countries.

From the deserts of Africa, the brown and red dust is carries by wind to other countries.

When the native people are displaced by their own native government, the countries where they flee, suffers, and bears the consequences of the refugees.

Those countries struggle, not because of their own fault, but because of the fault of other countries.

Men in honour, when they become schemers, innocents suffer.

The causes :
Who produced the smoke and the soot:

Why did they burn the stubble and produce the smoke, instead of using it for compost?  (Their inability to remove the stubble because it is labour intensive and time consuming, so they resorted to the easiest way.  Therefore, can we help them…?  We can give them enough number ,say , 1000s of tractors, so that removal and composting is done easily.

When they clear the land, automatically, the land is ready for the next crop.

By the time the seed time comes, or the sowing time comes, the compost will also be ready for them, if done simultaneously.

Result – Those states have pure air, and there is no smoke to be carried to the capital.

Now the neighbouring states are demanding Rs. 6000 crores and Rs. 3000 crores for solving the smoke problem, still no money for Delhi and for the Chief Minster Mr. Kejiriwal for the execution of the clearance of smoke and garbage  !!!!!

In reality, there is no major problem.  All man made problems.

Only some tractors can make the ground ready for cultivation by removing the stubble  and composting is also done simultaneously. No smoke, no fumes, no soot to be worried about !!  The farm land which is the very origin of pure fresh  air , rich in oxygen, the very factory of oxygen production, with all the lush green plants, will continue to contribute their share of providing healthy, clean, oxygen rich air as before  and    will continue to donate freely their fresh, un adulterated air to the whole nation  -  all over India. There is no need to purposely produce smoke and soot  so that others also suffer.

The smoke which was intentionally produced, and not by mere accident, will not be present in future, with a little help from the authorities.

Hence, there will not be a miniature Union-Carbide accident to suffocate the Indians, as well as the foreign ambassadors, the students and the working class population who migrated to the capital.

All the schools can function in a healthy atmosphere, breathing fresh air.

The prevention of hospital admissions and medical expenses can be of great help and relief  for all who are affected by the breathing problem.

Then, the tourists from all over the world can enjoy their holiday, and soak themselves up in the  refreshing atmosphere of our capital, enjoying the historic monuments.

Above all, Mr. Kejriwal government will be the pride of the nation, enhancing the pride and majesty of the  nation along  with the Modi government.

The clean-India image will be spread all over the world, especially since it is produced by the cooperation of the agriculturists, the industrialists and the environmentalists of the country.

In November, December and January, the humidity in the air is high.  Our festivals like Diwali, Puja, Christmas, New Year, all fall in these winter months.

Celebrating them with fireworks add to the pollution along with the agricultural fires.

The dust and the humidity make the air dense, hence the visibility is hampered.  Breathing problems are another by- product of this.

Therefore, we ourselves have to decide how :

(…a laser-light show may / will  reduce the pollution…On Diwali Day , at a particular time , if all people assemble, at Ramleela Maidan, and enjoy  the elaborate laser show for 2-3 hours free of admission fees, it will be a great free  festival celebration for all the citizens irrespective of caste or religion as well as a magnificent attraction for tourists.)
to celebrate our festivals – with or without fireworks.  Or having a miniature gas chamber instead.

The choice is ours, and we have the freedom to put on the mask, or to have free, pure , healthy air.

One advantage is that hospital bills will be less, and health hazard will be minimum.

Children can have their classes without any disruption.

As the Pulmonologists suggests, the lungs of both old and young and children will remain clean, unaffected, pink in colour  and not contaminated by smoke and turn into black color. Oxygenation of blood make the body and brain work far better than a tired brain and body. The productivity of children’s education as well as the productivity of industries also will improve , mainly by people not falling sick regularly,   irradication of viruses and bacteria etc. Little steps of cleanliness go a long way in the wellbeing of our nation.

Can we blame the Delhi government or Mr.Kejriwal or should we blame those who set fire to produce smoke purposely or out of their helplessness to have alternative methods. whichever be the reason, will they have the willingness to sort out better measures to collect the agricultural waste  with the help of tractors so that all people , including they themselves will have clean and healthy lungs.
