FASTING, DIETING, POVERTY

From the desk of Mrs. Baby Abraham . . . . . .

FASTING, DIETING, POVERTY

All take pride in dieting. It is very fashionable and appear sophisticated.
Fasting is something we willingly do occasionally and sometimes we are expected to do in accordance with our spirituality or religion.

Poverty is something which is forced upon us voluntarily or involuntarily by people, by circumstances beyond our control , when they are bossing over and suppressing and torturing to make others subjugated to them , by not giving them what is rightly theirs.  All the occurrences of poverty is the result of barbarians and cruel people grabbing away the resources of the land which genuinely belong to  these oppressed ones. Sometimes the people of the land itself fight among themselves  and the powerful ones alienate themselves from the weaker ones so that they can eliminate the weaker section without knowing that they are prosperous just because of the hard work of the workers. Once both sections are aware that they both need each other for survival leave alone prosperity, they suddenly seem to be standing on the same side of prosperity. This awareness makes the industries, businesses, education more interconnected and relevant to their mutual existence and excellence.

The vows or the decision we make for fasting, dieting, for prosperity or poverty
, the agreement we sign on at the time of taking on the commitment :
whether for marriage, for employment, for admission in educational institutions  for operations in hospitals , the booking of tickets in railway or airplane , everything reflect our faith in the system and their trustworthiness to fulfill it.
No wonder the Bible enforces the importance of  “Voluntary Vows !!!
Hindu people take the vows before the Lighted Lamp
Christians take vows before the altar or before Bible.
Muslims take vows before Quran.
Doctors take the Hypocrites oath.
Soldiers take their voluntary oath.
Lawyers and Judges take their oath.
President, Prime Minister and all  ministers take their oath.
How vigilant they must be to be truthful to their oath.
If vows for fasting is so important how much more  are vows concerning our lives. All of them take the oath voluntarily, nobody force them to occupy those designation. That is all the more reason , why they should be constantly aware of their high dignified responsible post and to be true to that designation.

In the Book of Deutronomy of the Holy Bible  , chapter 23 : 21 – 23
When you make a vow to the Lord your God,
You shall not delay to pay it
For the Lord your God will surely require it from you,
And it would be sin to you,
But if you abstain   from  vowing, it shall not be sin to you.
That which has gone out of your lips , you shall keep and perform.
For you voluntarily  vowed to the Lord you God ,
what you have promised with your mouth.
